With the release of the freshly announced Nexus 7 soon approaching you know that Amazon has to be up to something. They aren’t just going to sit back and let Google dominate the small tab market without putting up some sort of fight! Chinese times is reporting that Amazon has ordered 2 million 7 inch Kindle Fire 2s to be delivered on August 7. The new Kindle fire has been rumored to be released around July 31st so this does kind of make since. The new Kindle Fire is said to have a metal fram with the rest of the chasis being made of plastic. The screens are said to come from LG and the touch panels are apparently supplied by TPK. This is all rumor and nothing is confirmed. I guess we shall see.
