The LG G7 was arguably one of the best phones of 2017. It featured a great design, spectacular camera and features like waterproofing and wireless charging that made this phone hard to beat. That being said LG has decided it won’t follow up the series with another “G” branded device. While the G7 was top notch it didn’t perform in sales as well as LG would have liked.
This may be the reason LG is deciding to rebrand the series. A spokesperson for LG has confirmed that they will drop the “G” branding which has been around since 2012 for something fresh and new. The new branding will be present in a phone that will be released in the first half of 2018. LG may go with a two digit number to replace the “G” branding. This may be in an attempt to catch up with the numbering scheme of the iPhone which is currently on 10 and the Galaxy S9 which will also be released later in the year. What would you like to see the new spring time flagship device from LG be called?
